WHEN IS THE FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS?
Greetings Watchers!
This Watcher wants to know about the
timing of First Fruits. I’m sure that all of you will find this interesting and
informative.
God bless.

Dear Brother Sal,
I am very surprised you wrote me back
considering how busy everyone is these days. I wonder, do you have contacts in
Israel...wouldn’t it be amazing to get an e-mail from a friend there stating
that it had occurred, that the dead had indeed risen.
One more question if you don’t
mind....exactly when is First Fruits next Spring? Are the festivals on a
continually shifting schedule like Ramadan? Or are they fixed Thanks again,
Watcher R.

Hi R!
Thank you for
the note. Don't be surprised, I answer all my mail. That is what I do. This
Ministry is an Information Bible College. We are here for our students.
We do have many
friends in Israel who are watching very closely. They know exactly what to be
watching for, as do you, and when that occurs we will be alerted as close to the
exact day that they rose as can be ascertained. Then look for the countdown
clock on the Web site.
As to the date
of First Fruits this coming Spring.
First we must
understand that the keeping of the new moon practice is long gone, so God's date
and today's celebration date might not be exactly the same. What we do know is
that these are Spring feasts, and they begin on the 15th day of Nissan with
Passover, which in the Spring of 2002 is March 28th.
Now, having
established that, we must understand that the feast of First Fruits is not
celebrated on the same day today as it was in the time of Jesus. Shortly after
the time of Jesus, they changed the time to be the first day after the first day
of Passover.
During the time
of Jesus and before, it was celebrated on the first day of the week, Sunday,
after the first Sabbath, Saturday, after the first day of Passover. But it was
always on Sunday, the first day of the week.
So, look for the
dead to rise on a Sunday, which will be God's “set time” for First Fruits, not
mans. When man changed it, he forever sealed the possibility of anyone else
ever dying on Passover and remaining in the grave for three days and rising on
First Fruits. Jesus is the only one that has ever fulfilled that prophecy, or
ever could.
Then, forty days
after that Sunday, came a Thursday that was Ascension Day.
Another reminder
is that the Jewish day begins and ends at sundown. March 28th is a
Thursday, but
the day began at sundown on Wednesday, the 27th. Now the first Sunday after the
first Saturday after the first day of Passover, which is Wednesday the 27th, is the
following Sunday the 31st. So, First Fruits would be on the 31st of March, and
forty days form then would be sundown THURSDAY, May 9th! The day of the Rapture,
if all times earthly were as God intended, and if this were the Spring.
This is one of
those years when it works out ~ does that mean anything? Doesn't it all mean
something? What it means to me is to watch and watch closely!
God bless.
Brother Sal
