CHN Commentary - World Stage Update

Greetings Watchers!

Once again this year the Mideast came to the brink of peace just as Spring is ending.  It has been the way of it for the past few years.  They know that they have to make peace, but they just can’t seem to get there.  Well, we know that it’s because the Church is in the way.  And as the 'window of opportunity' for the dead rising this year has closed, we will now continue on with our 'watch' of the world stage toward peace in the Middle East and the reestablishing of Jewish rites on the Temple Mount for the Jews.

Two more homicide bombings have taken place in the last two days in Jerusalem just as President Bush was about unveil a new Middle East strategy.

The bombings prompted Bush to put his prescription for Palestinian statehood on hold. Bush had hoped to spur Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to begin mapping a state with the support of the United States and the world community.

The bombing appeared to be an act of defiance towards Israel just as it announced a get-tough policy towards Palestinians and started fresh attacks on Palestinian areas.

We can expect the sparring to continue into the near future.  But a key development occurred within the Palestinian intellectual community urging a halt to attacks on civilians inside Israel:

“We urge those behind military attacks against civilians inside Israel to reconsider their positions and to stop pushing our youth to carry out these attacks, which only result in deepening hatred between the two peoples,” said the 55-member group in a full-page advertisement in Al Quds, an Arabic daily.

We can now expect this to become a highlighted issue on the nightly news as witness to a wedge being driven between the Palestinian peace camp and those bent on Israel's destruction.

And of course, no 'stage watching' is complete without observing what the 'peacemaker' is up to, as his identity continues to be revealed.  Yesterday found Jordan's King welcoming Egyptian President Mubarak to Amman for more consultations on the need for peace.

Remember this about the King of Jordan and President Mubarak – they are the Kings of the North (the little horn) and the King of the South, Egypt.  Expect them to be meeting and lying to each other.  Because in the end, they fight it out, and Egypt looses.  So watch for the signs that these two are smiling at each other, but in agro moods.
