Here is a very interesting question I received from a Watcher.  You might have been thinking the same thing.

Q:  SHALL WE SEE AND TALK TO THE DEAD IN CHRIST? IT COMES TO MY ATTENTION BY ANOTHER THAT THEY WILL HAVE SPIRITUAL BODIES WHEN THEY ARISE FROM THEIR REST AND INTO ETERNITY.

Only if you are in Jerusalem.  As this is a repeat from the first time, because it is a shadow that is cast, and a shadow does not add to nor subtract from the substance that cast it.  The shadow is merely the silhouette, but the substance is complete and has dimension and character.

Now Matthew reported that after Jesus rose, the graves opened and many bodies of the dead saints rose and were seen by many in Jerusalem.  That says that they rose, but were not yet in their eternity.  He says bodies, not spiritual bodies, or naked bodies, or anything else, only bodies.  So, I don't think that they were already in their eternal state.  That came at the ascension into heaven with Jesus.

I think that these were just regular people.  I doubt that they even knew that they were going to heaven in 40 days.  They were Jews, so one would imagine that they thought they were preparing the way for God's kingdom on earth that was the promise to the Jews.

The Church was still a mystery hidden in the Mind of God and not yet revealed.  So when Jesus took them to heaven, he was fulfilling Psalm 68:18, and setting the stage for the rapture of the church if it became necessary, based upon the decision of the Jews to accept his sacrifice and bow to him as the Messiah that they had awaited.

When the revelation of the Church was finally needed, God revealed it to Paul only.  So, by then, the shadow of the Spring feasts which brought the Messiah to the Jews was being cast into the path of the Church to be experienced in the time of the end, when that same Messiah would be again presented to the Jews.  Only this time, they would be driven back to him by affliction, which is the great tribulation.  Where Jesus would come again to save them as the Father had in the days of Moses.  The Church, who are the body of Christ, and new creatures in Him, have no need for affliction to drive them to him.  The great tribulation is not for the new creatures in Christ.

So, the day of the rapture, which is the final act of the age of the Church, was set by Jesus himself as he fulfilled Psalm 68:18, already having fulfilled the future prophecy of Paul to the Thessalonians which said that the dead in Christ would rise first. Those dead that rose and were seen were not the only saints that rose that day.  All of the others waited in the 'air' until the 40 days warning period of Jonah was fulfilled, and then having fulfilled the law and the prophecies, He ascended and took those folks to heaven, leaving us with a picture of the Rapture.

Now, when we reach that time in history when the events upon the stage of time are in position to fulfill the prophecy of Daniel, those events will be self evident, thus revealing that the time had come, fulfilling the destiny that they were sealed for in the first place.

It's then that the final piece of the puzzle about the rapture of the Church is exposed.  The time for it to occur had been locked up and was waiting to be revealed in the timing of the revelation of Daniel.  And as we have taught for many years, the teaching about it had to be found within the teaching of the Apostle Paul, as he was the only person to whom the Mystery of the Church was revealed.  And that's exactly where it is!

And now the stage of history is over flowing with the events leading to the conclusion in Daniels prophecy.  The little horn is busy at his peacemaking work and totally exposed, and the world is positioning itself to uproot the 3 dissenting kings to the peace in the Middle East. 

And to top it all off, Spring is right around the corner!  As I observed yesterday, the timing seems to be falling right into place.  Praise the Lord.
