Greetings Watchers! We have been watching the action on the stage on Mideast history for many years now, and God's word keeps coming to pass, and witnessing to us the truth of His prophecy. But, that is all about the Jews and the timing of their covenant. What we Christians have to take away from watching all of this is the timing for the completion of our covenant. For we know, from several scriptural references, that before God returns His attention to the Jews to resume His covenant with them, He completes the covenant made with the Church. So, as Paul taught, the Church covenant has to end before the Great Tribulation can begin with the confirmation of peace and security for Israel and temple mount rites. Now, God locked up the timing for all of this to occur, in Daniel, so that in the time when these prophesied things began to occur, it would be that their time had come, and all that are watching would see them, and by that know and report that the day of their redemption is "even at the door". We are in the Biblical time of "even at the door" this very minute. God said, speaking to the Jews, the generation living at the time of this prophesied landscape, would see the end. Their end! And because our end comes prior to theirs, our end as well. The next mile stone that faces them on their road to their end, is the confirmation of the peace that brings security to Israel and rites on temple mount. They cannot reach that mile stone as long as the "Church Age" is open. Because the "age of the Gentile" is still open, it is the restraining force holding back the reopening of the Jewish covenant, because Paul said that the restraining force has to be taken out of the way first. We're still here! That means the next "window of opportunity" for the restraining force to be "taken out of the way", is this coming Spring. So, the time left for them to get to where they have got to go to make peace and the Rapture, is somewhere between their position on the spiral of their reality, and forty days after next First Fruits. That's about 120 days away. Can they come to peace by then from where they are today? Keep Watching!! I believe the evidence, that the events on today's stage of history in the Mideast and those portrayed in the prophetic landscape of the end times, are similar enough to warrant that we watch closely for the next mile stone on our road to redemption. We know we turned the corner to the final days of Daniel’s prophecy on 9/11. Until then, the world was not hell bent on ridding itself of the terrorists that make up the three nations that Daniel says will be uprooted. Paul said that the people of the time, would be the people of the day and of the light because he told them all about it, and they would see it, so it would not take them like a thief in the night like it's going to take all those who are asleep and in the dark. He said, rejoice that you see it, but don't keep it to yourself! I call it Paul's command to "Shake & Wake" your brothers in Christ; your neighbors. Since Paul said that he told us all about it, and we should know, so watch for it, and when you see it, do the "Shake & Wake", I have to know that he meant it, and that it's told to us vicariously through what he taught the churches during his life, because what he taught hasn't happened yet, and now it's available to us. A significant teaching on the feast of the Jews to the Colossians is easily skipped over today, because the feasts are not known in our time, and that teaching would have little meaning. But to the people of that time, hearing it for the first time, it has significant meaning, because of their intimate understanding of the use of the term and the illustration it portrayed in their lives. Paul is teaching basic Christianity to these new followers of Christ, and addresses the holy days and Sabbath's, and tells them that those things are now but shadows of things to come, but the substance casting those shadows is Christ. So, the teaching addressed how God's word concerning the Sabbath and the Feast Days, well known by his audience, were now shadows cast into the future and had to be understood as promises to a Church whose gates can not be prevailed against, even by hell! The Sabbath and the Feasts were all shadows of the Messiah cast into the future by the word of God, to be fulfilled by Jesus at His coming. Now, the word Feast means "set time". These "set times" were times that God set, on the Jewish calendar, to perform rituals, whose meaning pointed at the landscape of the Messiah. And now Paul is saying that these meanings are promises to us. So, if you seek the Messiah that is promised in your covenant, you must seek him in the words of promise that contain him from whence they were spoken; in the meaning of the Feasts, the "set times" of the Jews. Remember, we only got these promises because the Jews refused to recognize their substance. As promises, they are still in effect, because they are to the Church, and the Church is still here. So, it is we, the Christians of today that are the recipients of this message of promises. What we have to do is understand the meaning of the promises as they apply in our search for the landscape of the Messiah. That understanding pinpoints for us the things to do with Messiah as they apply to our covenant and it's ending. Just as the Church was a mystery to be known in it's time, the time has come for us to understand the details of the timing of the Rapture. In Paul's letter to the Colossians, he was making a point about the understanding he had brought them concerning the Church and began by commending them for their steadfastness to their faith in Christ. Preaching that in Jesus lived the fullness of God on earth and that they were complete in Jesus, and that Jesus is the head of all principalities and powers. He warned them about the TRADITIONS of men and the rudiments of the world not being after the ways of Christ. Then he goes on to show, that even though Jesus was a Jew, it is in Him that they are circumcised, that they are buried with Him in baptism, that they are risen with Him through faith, and though dead in their sins, through Him, forgiven of all their trespasses. Then he admonishes them to let no man judge them as to what they eat or drink, or that they don't keep the Sabbath, or the Feasts of the Jews, because those things were Shadows of things to come, but the substance is of Christ! Paul is making the Church understand that the feasts of the Jews are shadows of future events for the church, and the substance casting those shadows will be Jesus, the Christ! God is faithful to His word! and that's Truth You Can't deny. Because we believe that what is written in the Bible is the inspired word of God. God is going to honor the word He gave to us in His prophecies, and Paul tells us that God's word is the substance that casts a shadow that are forecasters of things yet to come in the future, and when that word comes to pass, that shadow becomes fulfilled, and again becomes the substance that recasts the shadow forward into the future. In this way, God demonstrates to us the method He uses of gaining entrance into OUR future, using His "set times" for His purpose, in His time. That's why when Paul is citing the Feasts of the Jews as an example to the Colossians, he tells them, that to Christians, they are the shadows of things to come, but the substance is Christ. (and by the way, Feasts means, "Set Times") Each feast, or "set time" casts it's own shadow into the future, so God is able to use those times that He "set", over and over again, throughout time, to accomplish the purpose for which he originally set that time. And because the object of the Feasts of the Jews was to point to their Messiah, the shadows cast, and the substance when fulfilled pertain to the things of Jesus, the Messiah. Let me first say that this definitely establishes God as a "time setter"! Don't let anyone tell you that God doesn't set times, because He set times for everything concerning the Messiah. There is nothing left to chance, or arbitrary about the way God set into motion the plan of redemption. Let me give you an example, using a Feast of the Jews that Christians know something about - The Feast of Pentecost. To the Jews, the Feast of Pentecost was a time of New Offering. It was established by God, at a "set time". Pentecost, which ended First Fruits, was set 50 days after The Feast of First Fruits. A ritual of the feast of Pentecost is very interesting and revealing. At this time of year, the Harvest season, the barley had been harvested, and unlike the previous Feasts of First fruits, where the procedure was to wave an omer of flour made from a sheaf of barley, before God in the Temples Holy of Holies, symbolizing a promise of God, of the full harvest yet to come, whereas the ritual at Pentecost symbolized completion, as the New offering that's made, was a finished product of the harvest, a loaf of bread. So, Pentecost is a time for a new offering of completed goods. Pentecost was celebrated by the Jews, in that way, year after year, on the designated day, ever since the law was given to them by God. So, God's word, that He gave to the Jews in the form of a Feast day, is casting a shadow into the future. And from their perspective, that shadow is a "New Offering of a completed product" made 50 days after the Feast of First fruits. We will discuss First fruits in a while, but suffice it for now to say that the Feast of First fruits was the day of Christ's resurrection. Viewing this from the Christian perspective, the shadow casts by the Feast of Pentecost, is a time set, 50 days after the resurrection of Christ for a new offering to be made. A new offering of the Finished Product, with Christ as the substance. This shadow is fulfilled in Acts, chapter 2 of the New Testament. It is the explanation of how God used that set time, the Feast of Pentecost, to "seal" the Apostles of Christ with the promised Holy Spirit, who then went forth with the New Offering, the finished product (the Messiah), which was Jesus (the substance), who had been completed by his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension, as the promised Messiah. The "good news", or gospel the apostles preached was that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah. And 3,000 of those who heard their message on that day were saved. How many of you know that when Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the Law, and found the people worshiping the idol, that he had 3,000 of them put to death? On the first day under the Law, 3,000 died, and on the first day under the Messiah, 3,000 were saved! God doesn't miss a jot or a tittle. But we said that when the word was fulfilled, the fulfillment became the substance that recasts the shadow into the future. So, the shadow cast into the future by the events described in Acts 2 is a "sealing" and a new offering of a completed product, the substance of which is Christ. So, if God has a need to "seal" someone again in the future, who will preach Christ, the Messiah, as the offering, there is no doubt that God will again remain true to His time setting, and fulfill this shadow on the Feast of Pentecost just as He has in the past, because the plan was laid down before the foundation of the world, and Pentecost, is established as the set time for marking people and making new offerings that concern the Messiah, Jesus. That is what SUBSTANCE and SHADOW is all about, and with only that basic understanding of how God employs the principle of "Substance and Shadow", it becomes easier to see how He reveals to us, that the Feasts of the Jews, fulfilled in Christ, become the Promises He makes to the Church, just as Paul taught. This is not going to be an in depth study of the Feasts, but rather an explanation as to how the basic meaning of the fulfilled Feasts relate to the promises of God to the Church. The Jews kept holy, the weekly Sabbath, which was the last day of each week, Saturday, and seven other God created Feasts, during their calendar year. The word Feast means "Set Time". The Feasts were the times that God set, on their calendar, for them to interact with Him, and He with them. Their Feasts, or set times began in the Spring and finished in the fall. Their first & most important Feast, held in the first month of their spiritual year was: The Passover - to be celebrated forever, in remembrance of their deliverance out of Egypt. Unleavened Bread - To remember their affliction under bondage in Egypt First fruits - A Feast of Promise Pentecost - 50 days after First fruits - A time for new offerings & a time of completion Then the fall Feasts: Trumpets - The Harvest Time/New beginning Atonement - The Affliction of their souls, and finally, Tabernacles - A time of thankfulness, gladness and expectancy. These are the feasts of the Jews, of which only the first four were fulfilled for the Jews by the coming of Christ, and are the ones that become the promises that God makes to the Church. Remember, Paul preached to the Colossians that the Feasts of the Jews were . . ."shadows of things to come . . . but the substance was of Christ" So, let's journey through each one individually to get an understanding of how their basic meaning relates them as God's promises to the Church. THE WEEKLY SABBATH To the Jews, the Sabbath meant rest. The law required that no servile work be done on that day. It was celebrated to represent a number of rests. God's rest of Genesis 2:3, the rest of redemption, and the deliverance of Israel from Egypt from Deut.5:15., and also pointing forward to the "better rest" of Hebrews 4:9, and ultimately to the eternal Sabbath of completed work, of completed redemption, and completed 'hallowing' of Rev. 11. This was the meaning, to the Jews, of the weekly Sabbath. The shadow cast was Rest! As a promise of God to the Church, Fulfilled in Christ, the word Sabbath becomes a verb - Sabbath-ing - because Christians REST in the work of Christ. We're not under the Law, we're under Grace! Christians keep holy the Sabbath by resting in the sure and certain knowledge that Christ died so that we might be free. We accept His salvation through unmerited favor, and we know that we are saved by Faith through His grace! And, we as Christians believe Paul's teaching that: "though I am yet a sinner, He died for me". That's the rest of the Sabbath for a Christian. The Feasts begin with: THE PASSOVER Now to the Jews, the Passover represented their salvation from bondage through the blood of the Lamb for their obedience. The shadow cast was salvation by blood for obedience, WORK. As a promise to the Church, Passover is fulfilled in Christ. He was the Lamb of God as His blood shed at his crucifixion provides salvation to the Church, by Faith through the Grace of God. That represents a totally different covenant! UNLEAVENED BREAD To the Jews, leaven represented corruption and evil. This comes from their remembrance of their affliction in Egypt and yet it's celebrated with joy, as Israel is always to remember their bondage in connection with their deliverance. For it had been their 'affliction', and a mark of their subjection to the Egyptians, to be driven forth in such haste, as not to even have time for leavening their bread. As part of the celebration of the feast, the bread is hidden for 3 days, and is brought fourth on First fruits. The shadow cast is overcoming corruption & evil. As a promise of God to the Church, Unleavened bread is fulfilled in Christ. Promising us that He overcame corruption and evil, but not for himself, and was the deliverer God sent. And He laid hidden in the tomb for 3 days to appear again on First fruits. FIRST FRUITS To the Jew, First fruits represented a promise of the full harvest yet to come. They took the first sheaf's of barley and ground them into a flour and offered it to God in the temple, symbolic of the full harvest yet to come. Shadow cast is the promise of the full harvest yet to come. As a promise of God to the Church, First fruits is fulfilled in Christ, as His resurrection on First fruits promises the Church, the full harvest, or Rapture of the Church, yet to come, both the raised dead and the living of the time. PENTECOST - The Pivotal Feast To the Jews, this was a time of completion and new offering made 50 days after First fruits. The offering made on Pentecost was not merely barley flour, but the completed product, a loaf of bread. The shadow cast was a new offering of completion made 50 days after First fruits, completing First Fruits. As a promise of God to the Church, Pentecost is fulfilled in Christ, as HE was the new offering, having been completed through His death on the cross, His resurrection as promised and His ascension back to His divinity, just ten days earlier. The True Messiah! Completing His redemptive work. Now, this sets the stage for His return sometime in the future, to fulfill the remainder of the prophecies and Feasts, that were set aside for His second coming. Set aside, because He came to His own, and His own received Him not, causing the plan of the Church to be actuated. The covenant with the Church is thereby forever welded to the Feasts of the Jews that were fulfilled in Christ. It can't be any other way! And, the Church's covenant will be completed exactly as the shadow reveals. These first four Feasts of the Jews, are the set times, that have been fulfilled by Jesus at His first coming that also fulfill the promises they become to the Church. The remaining set times, Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles, not yet fulfilled, and have nothing to do with the church. They'll be fulfilled during the Great Tribulation and after Christ's second coming. Trumpets - which is the harvest of the Jews, is yet unfulfilled. But, God leaves His last 2 witnesses and 144,000, marked out of the tribes of Israel, as servants specifically to preach the "gospel of the Kingdom", and then to be caught away. In Revelation, John reports seeing, in Heaven, those who are singing the song of Moses. Those are the Jews. The ones who are caught away, the man child, the two witnesses, who are resurrected and called to heaven, and the martyred. Applying the principle of substance & shadow, the Raptured Jews, will be caught away on the Feast of Trumpets, each in his own order, fulfilling the harvest, as He promised them! Meanwhile on earth, the woman, the people Israel, are going through the Tribulation, Atoning for their sins before being rescued and hidden in the desert, awaiting the return of Christ the King, to lead them in the millennium, during which the feast of Tabernacles will be fulfilled for them. And, the believers, who stayed in Jerusalem, are massacred by the Antichrist, martyred, offering their own blood to God as the token of their faith for salvation. But be sure of one thing, John sees them, after he sees the saints who are singing the song of the redeemed! The redeemed are the twenty four elders, those who are under the covenant of grace, and they are seen in heaven before those who sing the song of Moses! And because of that, we are required to search for another set time, other than the one reserved for the Jews, The Feast of Trumpets, for one reserved especially for the Church, because the twenty four elders are already in heaven when the Jews arrive! That's because they are under a separate covenant. So the time set for them to arrive in Heaven is not the same as the time set for the Jews to arrive in Heaven. The Feast of Trumpets is the harvest feast set for the Jews, not the Church. Why would God complete His covenant with the Church on a day already reserved to be fulfilled for the Jews, after His second coming.? His manner concerning the Feasts and Promises is already manifest, and that would deviate from the established meaning. There is another time that is set for the Church to be harvested, and it is clearly shown in the landscape of the Messiah. That brings us back to the journey of the Feasts. They have come full circle. They went from work for the Jews, to promises for the Church, up to their present completion, and now must be returned to the Jews, because we know that the final three Feasts will be fulfilled in Christ for the Jews. So there must be a time in history, when God returns the Feast of Pentecost to the Jews, in order that the new offering, with Christ as it's substance, can be made in preparation for the 2nd coming of Christ. That can only happen when the covenant of grace is closed! With the Church gone, the Feasts of the Jews are no longer shadows of things to come for the Church, now the meaning of the unfulfilled Feasts applies, as it always has, to the Jews. The Feast of Pentecost is the set time for new offerings of completed things! And that time has already been set by God before the foundation of the world. And it will be on that Pentecost that it will be used yet again by God, sealing or marking the Last Two witnesses, destined to becoming preachers of the gospel of the kingdom. And on that day of Pentecost, they will go forth to continue the new offering of Jesus as The Messiah, pointing out that the earthly deliverer that the Jews have crowned, is a false Messiah, as God returns his attention to completing the covenant he made with them, having already ended the covenant made with the Church. Now the stage is set for Christ to fulfill the last three Feasts for the Jews! Trumpets - Atonement -& Tabernacles, which are, the harvest of the Jews, the affliction of their souls during the Great tribulation, and the time of their kingdom, here on earth, under the Messiah and His redeemed. Why are they for the Jews, and not for the Church? Because God harvests the Church under a separate covenant. The Church has nothing to atone for, Christ paid the price, that's why the Church belongs to Him, and during the millennium, all the saints, Old and New Testament and the saved Jews, return to be the rulers and reigners of revelations, in the capacity described in Hosea - as kings and priests of the Lord. Hosea also tells us how that can be lost - Hosea says that you loose that reward because of a Lack of Knowledge! That's right out of scripture - and that's truth you can't deny! But before any of that can happen, God closes the covenant with the Church, and that, according to Paul is the event known as the catching away, or Rapture! So, now you know how the feasts of the Jews become the promises of God to the Church that are already fulfilled in Christ. The mystery of the Church was not yet revealed, but it was there, in the mind of God, awaiting the decision of the Jews. When they rejected Jesus as the Messiah, the mystery was revealed to Paul, and the Passover became our salvation by His blood for FAITH, not Obedience, and through Grace, not Work! And unleavened bread became our covering as he overcame corruption and evil, for us, not for himself. And His resurrection on First Fruits is our guarantee of the full harvest yet to come at the Rapture! And Pentecost becomes the pivotal Feast, as it comes 10 days after the Ascension/Rapture, and is the time God returns the feasts back to the Jews to hear the message, from newly anointed witnesses, that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah. A message left uncompleted to the Jews these many centuries. Pentecost went from a new offering of Bread in the temple - the Jews offering to God - to a new offering of Jesus as the completed Messiah - God's offering to the Jews (Then a parenthesis during the age of the Gentiles, when God's offering to the Jews became a promise of God to the Church). And after the closing of the parenthesis, Pentecost becomes the starting point for the continued offering of Jesus as the completed Messiah to the Jews - God's offering of the Savior to the Jews continued until the end. The three unfulfilled feasts of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles, are yet unfulfilled because of the parenthesis. During the time of the Gentiles, these feasts, which don't apply to the Church, have been set aside waiting for their time, which comes after the rapture, during the Great Tribulation and beyond into the millennium. What Paul meant when he said to the Colossians: . . . The feasts of the Jews are but shadows of things to come, but the substance is of Christ, is that the completed or fulfilled Spring feasts brought the Messiah onto the scene. Those feasts are cast as shadows to the Church to be seen and completed at the Rapture. The unfulfilled Fall feasts are yet fulfilled for the Jews. Pentecost is the day of the new offering once again, setting up the return of the Messiah to complete His covenant of the Law with the Chosen People. So, lets see if there are any insights into the Rapture in this understanding of substance and shadow in connection with the Feasts of the Jews. The definition of Rapture, from the root word in Latin Rapare`, means to catch away. The word that is used in the New Testament is only used once to describe a physical moving from one place to another. In Acts, chapter 8, at verse 39, where Philip had just baptized the Ethiopian eunuch, and scripture says that when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, the eunuch saw him no more, and Philip found himself in Azotus, and began preaching! Used here in this context set's it meaning once and for all. We know from scripture that the completed Messiah was the offering on Pentecost, and we know that His completion consisted of His crucifixion, His resurrection and His Ascension. All of that occurred prior to Pentecost - It had to be, in order to be used as an offering on Pentecost, as the offering at Pentecost is a new offering of completed goods. We also know from scripture, from Thess. Chapter 4: verses 16, 17, that the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive will be caught up with them . . . This is the Church being talked to here. The Church is the Body of Christ - and it is going to be caught up, both the prior dead, and those alive. God wants everyone alive when He takes them to Heaven, as opposed to being dead, where their fate is the lake of fire. I have illustrated in another teaching how the landscape of the Messiah, given as a sign in Jonah, came to warn and save the people from destruction, while the sign of Noah demonstrates that God closed the hearts of everyone except Noah and his family, and that they all died. Obviously what God wanted for them. And we know that the next new offering will be made on Pentecost after the covenant with the Church closes. Thereby returning the feasts back to the Jews for the fulfillment of the Fall feasts. That raises the question: What happened between First fruits, and 50 days later on Pentecost that allowed for the Apostles to preach Jesus as the Messiah? The final act of completion is what happened - The Ascension of Christ's Body. Isn't that what occurs at the Rapture? Christ's body, the Church, going up? Isn't that what completes His role as Redeemer of the world? Because the Church was a mystery, revealed only to Paul years later, there was no Feast of the Ascension for the Jews! After all, the Church is the grafted on branch to the tree of the root of Abraham. Nevertheless the set time for the body of Christ to Ascend was scheduled by God before the foundation of the world, as surely as the set time for the Crucifixion was The Passover, as surely as the time set for the Resurrection was First fruits, and as surely as the time set for Jesus to be the new offering as the completed Messiah was Pentecost! God designed all those things to show the Jews the Jesus was the Messiah. The Jews had traded their way of life for a religion, and the understanding that God had laid down for them in the Feasts was lost among the traditions of their religion. So, God actuated the plan of the Church, and it's Jesus who initiates the Feast, or the set time, for the completion of the Church. He, Himself casts the shadow into the future, setting the time of the Rapture, as He completes the landscape of the Messiah. And, among all the Christians, the Catholics are the only denomination who observe the Ascension of Jesus as a Church Feast! So, our investigation into the scripture about the Rapture of the Church has led us to the question; When did Jesus ascend? He died on Passover, was raised three days later on First fruits and ascended forty days after that. Therefore, God's timer for catching away The Church is set to go off forty days after the feast of First Fruits, in a year when all the other elements pertaining to that time are aligned. That means that the Rapture of the Church is in fulfillment of the Shadow cast by Jesus Himself at His ASCENSION! Paul’s teaching shows that God did leave the Church with a timing for the Rapture. Along with knowing from Daniel when and what to watch for, the teaching of Paul to the Church tells us via I Thess. Chapter 4, starting in verse 5, that we are not in darkness, we are children of light, children of the day, not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch! He tells us to put on the full armor of God, the hope of salvation for God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ! Now this makes sense! Because we know that when Daniel is on the scene, it is time to watch for the reward of not being appointed unto wrath, The Rapture! Because Daniel won't be on the scene of the stage of History until it's time, which is the end times! Then Paul tell us comfort ourselves, rejoice and edify one another with the knowledge. He says that Faithful is the one that calleth! God never said that the timing of the Rapture could never be known, only that it be discovered and revealed in it's time, as foretold to Daniel in chapter 12, at verse 4 - when the seal is broken on the prophecy, there will be increased knowledge. God is a god who used set times to cast shadows to identify things yet to come. His challenge to us to seek and find Him is very appropriate, because everything you need to know is revealed in his word, in time. Just as the Church was withheld from the Old Testament people, and revealed to Paul at the appropriate time, so it is with the Rapture. Had the Jews of the Old testament accepted Jesus as the Messiah, there would have been no need for the church age or the rapture, so it's revelation was unnecessary until it's time. The Rapture's timing has always been there. To say that it wasn't is to say that God's plan for the 'Church' wasn't in place, but it was, just waiting to be revealed in it's time. The plan was laid down before the foundation of the world, and once put into motion, it travels along it's own journey until completion. Now that we are so close, we have reached the time for the Church to be made aware. Which leads us to believe that we are extremely close! Only after understanding what Scripture has to say about the Rapture's timing and significance to end times, does one understand why the devil would hide this seemingly easy to understand association of the Ascension/Rapture of the Church from those for whom it was intended. He would have it so wrapped in tradition, that at the time for it to be revealed, it would be lost in that same tradition. But God saw to it to tell us that when Daniel was on the scene, there would be much new knowledge. Don't be fooled, it's straight out of His word, and His Word is Truth You Can't Deny! And, here is something else straight out of God's word, thus truth you can't deny. GOD ALWAYS WARNS HIS PEOPLE! Throughout Gods word are the warnings of future events. He has never failed to warn the people about what's coming. And as always, the events occur, and those who heeded the warning were saved in one way or another. The events are always right on time and accurate in every detail. Why would God not do the same for the Rapture? The Messiah landscape, as clearly shown, in the only sign God gave of the Messiah, Jonah, that what saved the people of Nineveh, was a warning of 40 days. Jonah had already willingly given up his life to save the crew, and after his resurrection from the whale, he warned Nineveh, which saved them from God's certain destruction. God knew that by the time of the end, the final age of the Church would have become as the Laodiceans. He knew, that at that time, the lie would have become the truth, and the truth the lie. He tells us all about that. He knew that there would have to be a warning to awaken those who were lulled to sleep by those lies. There is nothing unusual about God warning the people He wants alive, of coming events. And, there is nothing unusual about when He does it. Scripture reveals that His method is to reveal the warning just prior to the occurrence, but in plenty of time to make a decision. That's because God's warnings were all planned before the foundation of the world, and executed the day He put His plan into motion. One has nothing else BUT to expect that what He said would happen, will happen! The Messiah landscape has only two things yet to occur to be complete. A 40 day warning to save the people from certain destruction by God, and a catching away of all the living in Christ, before the destruction to complete the covenant made with the Church. But the subject here is the Rapture of the Church - an event in God's plan occurring at the end times. It occurs in end times because that's the time in the plan He concludes His covenant with the Old Testament people, the Jews, and the "lost" tribes of Israel. This is the 7 years in the plan that He reserved for Himself, to come and conclude the episode he began when He called upon Abraham to begin his long days journey into the future. And the end that He has scheduled for those who led His chosen astray, and for those whose intention it is to rid the face of the earth of God and His chosen people, is called in scripture, the Tribulation, the Tribulation the Great. The description in Revelations of what takes place keeps me in awe that I will not be subject to it, because of my Faith in the work of Jesus, the Messiah. Because God closes his covenant with the grafted on branch of the tree of the root of Abraham before He returns to complete the covenant made with the tree itself. And the event scheduled which completes our redemption, the covenant made with the "body" of the Messiah, the redeemed, is the catching away. And as we have seen, God has that scheduled to fulfill the shadow cast at the first Ascension of the body of Jesus, the Christ, the final event in the completion of His act of redemption. And you can bet your everlasting life, that as with all the significant events in God's plan, He left us a Warning sign for the Rapture of the Church. The sign of Jonah requires it, because after the Rapture, comes certain destruction by God. The substance and shadow of the resurrection on First fruits reveals that to be so. Lets examine the truths that Scripture reveals concerning the warning sign of the Rapture - truth you won't be able to deny - because it's straight out of the word of God! First fruits, the promise of the full harvest yet to come, is the day Christ rose. Casting a shadow of a set time for resurrections into the future, setting the stage for the return of Jesus, the Christ in the future. But, Matthew, in his gospel wrote, at chapter 27, verses 52 and 53, that on that day of resurrection, after Jesus rose, the graves were opened, and my Bible (KJV) says, "and many bodies of saints that slept arose, and, came out of the graves after the resurrection, went into the holy city, and appeared unto many". What this is saying is that these risen saints are the shadow cast of the promise to be fulfilled by the raising of the dead in Christ of ITHES.4:16,17, as part of the full harvest of the saints yet to come. And, on that day appointed for the Ascension, Ephesians, chapter 4, at verse 8, tells us that when He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, fulfilling that earlier prophecy made in Psalm 68 at verse 18! That means that when Jesus ascended, 40 days after He rose, he took with him those saints who rose after him 40 days earlier, those that were seen by many in the holy city. They were the token, of the full harvest yet to come, just as the omer of barley (the flour), made from the sheaf's of barley picked on First fruits, and waved before the Lord, was the token of a full harvest yet to come. That's what Paul means when he tells the Thessalonians, in chapter 4 at verse 16 & 17, that the dead in Christ rise first, THEN we which are alive and remain are caught up together with them in the twinkling of an eye, to be with the Lord forever. Nothing says that those two events occur simultaneously, in fact, Scripture strongly indicates otherwise. The time set for resurrections is First Fruits, and the time set for going to Heaven is 40 days later. And in fulfillment of the shadow cast by that event on resurrection day, many of the newly resurrected dead in Christ, will be seen by many, just as they once were seen in the holy city. That is the warning sign God gave us to know that our redemption is only 40 days away! Just as Nineveh knew EXACTLY what day God's wrath would come down upon them if they did not repent. They had 40 days, and that was it! Scripture is saying that the people of this world will get a 40 day warning before God's wrath begins, and all those who repent will be saved! Now, all that Scripture has been there for centuries. Why is it only now that we are able to see this meaning in it? No one that I am aware of, has ever preached this message. Now I know that there may be skeptics to this teaching, but to you I say, study the whole teaching, and notice that there is not a verse taken out of context, nor a shoe horn squeezing any thing into place. God's word is truth, thus it's rooted in simplicity. With Daniel on the scene, as promised, there is much new knowledge. And the new knowledge of the meaning of the end time for the Church, which had been hidden from us in a mystery, is now in full view. Because Now is the set time in God's plan for the Church to be alerted to watch, because their redemption draweth nigh! He is making His final call - just as He told the Laodiceans that He's coming a knocking on the door for the last time, and alas, only 50% answer the door. That knock on the door will be the dead in Christ rising, the exact fulfillment of the shadow cast, and the fulfillment of the prophecy of Paul. And, as I have taught, my mind conceives this as being something we will just have to see at the time to know, if it's a sign to the Jews to repent (they are the ones who need to turn away from their belief and turn to Christ) before it's too late, thus making the many dead that rise visible by many only in the Holy City, or whether that event will bear witness all over the world. Remember, in the case of Nineveh, an entire population was saved from destruction. That was a lot of people, but the meaning is, all that repented were saved. Aware Christians will know what that signs means when it occurs. Now in the account given by Matthew, it's only told of as an event that occurred. It is only in the account of what Jesus did during those 40 days that He remained on earth that we know of. And what we know, is that He appeared to His friends and made them aware of what was to come. I have to believe that those other dead that rose after Him, who were seen in the Holy City by many, were doing the same thing. And, I think that's one of the reasons that so many were converted in Jerusalem on Pentecost. Three thousand was an astounding number of people to convert to Him in a day, in the city that had just crucified Him. Now, Matthew says there were many dead that rose after Him. Many is more than a few, and less than a lot. So, I don't look for millions of dead walking around the planet. These are going to be a select few who get a 40 day assignment to warn the people. Just as Jonah was selected. And, in Jonah is wrapped the entire landscape of the Messiah. You see, the only way all of this can be believed in the way that I believe it is to study the end times to the depth that I do. But, to put yourself in the position to be reasonably sure you can believe it, you can study it by getting a basic understanding of the prophecy of Daniel, Revelation and the portions of the New Testament that deal with the end times and the Rapture. Then, apply your knowledge to watching the signs of the times. Jesus said that reading the signs of the times in Israel is as easy as knowing when it was going to rain. And, in that Mediterranean climate, everyone knew that when the wind blows from the South, you can expect it to rain. So, reading the sings of the times is as simple as that. Well, if it's that easy, don't you think that every Christian, at least every Christian who thinks that we are in the end times, would want to take the short time it takes to get informed, and start watching for their redemption? After all, they're the group that thinks the world is coming to an end and that we are in the last days. But I can't seem to find a way to get the Church to listen! I feel invisible! The sheer volume of speculation about prophecy is blocking out the light of the reality of it's fulfillment. I think that's what being blinded and lulled to sleep looks like in these later days. Can you imagine if salvation were dependant upon knowledge how small the catching away would be? Yet, read Hosea 4:6 and see what God said to the Jews - "My people are DESTROYED for lack of KNOWLEDGE: because thou hast rejected KNOWLEDGE, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be NO priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." Those children are alive today! Looks to me like what he's saying to them is that they had better get some knowledge and remember what the law of God says. That has to be written to the Jews, because we are not under the law, we are under Grace! Looks to me like when we get into the end times, those Jewish folks that don't remember what the law of God says are destroyed. Now, we know that He marks 144,000 of them and Raptures them, and we know that He hides all but a remnant of them in the wilderness - which is how He keeps His promise to Abraham - but he has to come at the last minute, and save them, because if He waited any longer, they would have all been destroyed, and in His own words, "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." The elect here is not the Church, it's the Jews from the Abraham covenant - remember, He has ended the "age of the Gentile", and is now completing the Abraham covenant. And He's telling them, that if He didn't come when He did, it would have been curtains for them. God also wanted Christians to have knowledge at the end time. We know that because Paul told us to do the "Shake & Wake" when we saw it happening. (Paul made a bad assumption - in his state of mind at the time, he assumed everyone would be watching closely) We wouldn't ever see it happening, in the context of it's scriptural meaning, if we didn't know about it. What I do know about it is that part of God's word on the subject is in Revelation. He told the Laodiceans, which typify the final age of the Church on earth, that He was going to Reject as many as He Accepted, indicating that half of that final outgrowth of the Christian Church on earth is getting rejected! But He says that none of the next to the last age of the Church on Earth, the Philadelphians, are going to miss it! He's holding the door open for them personally! Now, the Philadelphian's are described as folks that are few in number, but they have kept His word, and not denied His name, and are going to have Satan's people worship before their feet, so that they would know that God loves them. But the Laodiceans are described as folks that are luke warm, getting spewed out of His mouth, because, in His eyes, they are focused on their worldly riches, and are oblivious to the fact that they are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. And I know that he stands at the door of their hearts, in the end time, and knocks, promising heaven to those who answer the door. I know that it's His final warning to them, because the very next thing after that warning, is the gathering together in Heaven where they witness the first seal being opened by Jesus that begins the Great Tribulation. Now, you'd think that anyone calling themselves a Christian would want to know all about that, especially if they even felt like the end times were near. To not want to know is like saying, "I know that someday a comet is going to kill us all, but when you see it coming, don't tell me about it, because if you do, then I might have to believe it." It's time for Christians to get their heads out of the sand and look around at reality. I'm sorry, but I have to place the blame squarely where it belongs. The Churches are so misinformed about these things that they are either not talking about it, or passing along traditional information, dulling the senses of their flocks and lulling them to sleep! To follow the instruction of Paul about these times, to "Shake & Wake" our sleeping brothers and sisters in Christ, has to be done on a grass roots level. Person to person, multi level marketing it as it were! Ding Dong, Avon Calling! It's this Ministry's goal to initiate a "Shake & Wake Your Neighbor" movement within Christian communities all over the world, to stimulate awareness to and create interest in "end time" prophecy through out Christianity. Awareness leads to interest, leads to study, leads to understanding the truth of the lateness of the hour that time has exposed. I can envision neighbors hosting "Shake & Wake" Prophecy Parties in their homes, and in their churches, to stimulate end time awareness among their friends, relatives and fellow church members. It seems the only way to begin passing on the light, one candle at a time, insuring that every day, somebody somewhere in the world is exposed to the message of His coming. If we don't do it, who will? We are "even at the door" of our redemption - History and Scripture, unfolding daily proves that! The world "feels" it, but it seems that only a few are called to action. Zeal grows out of understanding. Understanding grows out of study. CHN has the Bible Study that can turn the world on to watching. I urge you to get a copy of the CHN Bible Study, "The Prophecy of Daniel, The Book of Revelation, The Rapture of the Church and the Mideast Today". It's the perfect way for Christians to learn what it is they need to know to be able to see the prophecy coming to pass on the present day stage of history. Along with the study comes my time, for answering your question, and holding personal and group discussions on IRC. This 20 hour, 16 lesson study is available on CD-ROM, with narration and map room and introductions that makes it very easy to understand. After participating in the study, the student will know what to watch, where to watch and why they are watching there to see it. And, as I previously explained once you see it, God will do the rest. This is a faith building study, as the student will witness first hand the wonder of God keeping his word over centuries right to the present day! Believe me, there is no better way to arouse ones faith than to see the faithfulness of God to His word. I want every Watcher and their closest friend to have a copy of this study.
